The treatment for hyperhidrosis and excess sweating is effectively the same as that used on facial areas for wrinkles and lines. The injections are placed into the over-active muscles where hyperhidrosis is a problem. These are tiny pin-pricks and almost painless. Nonetheless, we are happy though to treat people with a local anaesthetic cream to numb the area first.The treatment for excess sweating quickly produces a dry and very long lasting anti-perspirant effect. The effect can go on for up to 15 months. The armpits in our pictures are real life images and the effect seen is a partial one achieved after only three days. Almost complete dryness resulted after 5 days or so.
Some people worry about where the excess sweat then goes to. Generally there is a slight increase in whole body sweating but because it is spread over the entire body, it is unnoticeable.
Treatment Costs
The cost of the underarm treatment for hyperhidrosis is usually £500 per session depending on the area to be treated. An initial consultation fee of £100 is chargeable but offset against the full fee if you proceed with a treatment.
You will need to come back to the clinic with in two weeks so that we can make sure that the treatment is working.
