I have several symptoms including a white blood cell count that fell to 1 therefore a Haematologist gave me several tests for cancer, virus's etc including a Duo test, H1/H2 and P24 antigen.

This test was given 10.5 weeks after a possible exposure. Vaginal sex, I am the female, no ejaculation with straight man. Test was negative at 10.5 weeks.

I have continued to feel very unwell for another 4 months (I had been unwell for 2) so now 6 months in total.
Painful glands, fatigue, sore throat, headaches. WBC back up to 3.9.

My partner is also experiencing headaches, redness/flusing in the neck area, pain in the abdomen and came up in a terrible rash for 3 weeks after having his back waxed.

I understand that the P24 test is only really reliable up to 4 weeks after exposure and that the antibody test can take anything up to 12 weeks, therefore is there any chance the test could be wrong,

I have read that HIV 2 can be missed with a duo test.

Hello Doctor(s),

I recently (within past two days) had an encounter with two sex workers. I am male and both of them female.

My penis was a bit sore and skin irritated already from a bout of excessive mastrubation in the past few days. I know for a fact that the irritated skin was because of this since I have not had sex in almost more than an year before this recent encounter and have been fully tested for all STDs including HSV-2 blood test about six months ago - so am certain I am STD free.

My concern is;

One of the sex workers massaged my penis with her bare hands to get an erection. This massaging went on for a while even after my erection. She also licked and took my testicles into her mouth to arouse me.

No penetrative sex was performed.

I did not touch their vaginas directly - but used a dildo they had on both of them - and there was a lot of touching and caressing of general parts of the body going on using hands both ways.

All this while - I had no protection on.

I did then put on a condom - and was given a blowjob by one of the workers.

The condom covered all my penis - and the blowjob did not go below the condom on the penis.

I did not ejaculate after the blowjob and the condom was kept on my erect penis while I played with a dildo on them both.

I know the condom stayed on all during this time.

I did eventually ejaculate while mastrubating with the condom on - and took it off carefully - and it appeared to be fine holding all the fluid inside.

I then wiped my penis with a tissue - and left.

I am now feeling quite worried at the potential of what I may have exposed myself too due to the irritated nature of my penis underside due to excessive prior mastrubation and the touching of my penis and massaging and the blowjob and licking of my testicles.

Please advise what I may have exposed myself to and what am I at most risk of?

Thanks.

Instead of rolling it on she kind of pulled it on by stretching it a bit and then roll the rest on. However the condom seemed to sit on as It should during the act and I filled it with water after worth and there were no leakage. Should I be concerned? Do I need to get tested to to be sure ?

Hello Doctor,

Yesterday - I had a night with two sex workers. I am male, they both were female.

No penetrative sex occured.

One of the workers licked ans sucked my testicles initially - obviously no protection there.

She went on the massage/mastrubate my penis which had no condom on at the time to obtain an erection.

This went on for a while - mastrubating my penis without any protection.

There was a lot of caressing and touching of other parts of bodies with each others hands. I did not touch their vaginas.

The two sex workers had a dildo which I held and used on them.

I then wore a condom and oral sex was performed on me. There was no ejaculation - and my erection remained with the condom on. All the while caressing and touching the two while they did the same to me - but I did not touch their vaginas and my fingers did NOT came in contact with any vaginal fluids.

I eventually ejaculated into the condom and it appeared to be fine since it held all fluids. I removed the condom and disposed of it.

My concern is, I was fondling and caressing the two bodies (not the vaginas) and had oral protected sex performed on me - the condom was kept on for longer until ejaculation - which I then removed. As explained above - to obtain an erection, one of them licked and sucked my testicles before protection was put on and mastrubated me.

The underside of my penis was a bit sore from the previous night due to friction of excessive mastrubation.

Today I am feeling very worried with what happened yesterday.

Am I at risk of HSV-2, HIV, Syphillis, etc. or any other STD from this episode?

Please help.

Thanks.

Hello again, 2nd post, as my last post seams to have got lost? so I've paid twice now,

anyhow hears the question
i had mutual masturbation with a guy, and we both ejaculated on our own chests, however, when the guy went to the bathroom after to clear himself up, i followed after and picked some of the toilet paper up, which i didn't realise till after it had fluids on it (semen)
my question is would there be any risk to HIV towards me is I've used this tissue paper to clean the head of me penis, i.e. cross contamination of semen been of the tissue? then cleaning myself

Last night I had sex with two street prostitutes. I was drunk but a condom was used and it did not rip or get damage as far as I know. Today I am devastated with anxiety because of the fear of HIV. As I have understood it there is still a small risk of contracting HIV even when a condom is used ? I have had an HIV test before because of a similar incident, however that time the condom broke, and that process was very tough for me. Had a test at 6 weeks and 12 weeks. If I don't suffer any symptoms of an infektion, what kind of testing do you think I need ? The only think that were done without condom was me fingering one of the girls.

However, yesterday i visited a sex worker and indulged in some deep/french kissing with her. no other sexual contact took place ( I came quickly!), but around 5, maybe a bit more, mins before she had another client.

Now I am worrying that he may have had unprotected oral sex with her, and ejaculated insider her mouth: if that were the case - though i have no evidence of that - would that pose any risk for me?

thanks in advance for your attention.

Dear Doctor,

I had an exposure over a year ago when having protected vaginal sex with a CSW in vietnam, 3 days later i was back in the UK and had unprotected sex with a girl in the UK. I got tested 5 or 6 times, the last being just under six months after the exposure and they all came back negative. However, over the last 2 weeks both myself and the girl i had sex with upon returning to the UK have been having eye fasciculations and i've just been extremely scared that i might have passed something on to her. Is there any way the virus could have survived on my penis for 3 days and then been passed on to her? Have you ever heard of eye fasciculations being a sign of HIV infection? And would it be responsible to ask her to have a test because of the encounter that we had or is there no way that she could be positive if i tested negative 6 months after the exposure?

I'm extremely worried so any help would be great!

Thanks

Dear Doctors,

I really need your advice for something that scares me over the past few days. 3,5 weeks ago I did the most stupid thing I df unid in my life and I still regret it. I had protected oral sex and protected vaginal sex with a sex worker of unknown HIV status. While she was giving me oral sex I touched the outside of her vagina for some seconds and at some point I licked her breasts as well. The whole episode lasted around 5 minutes and the condom was on both during oral and vaginal sex. After finishing i remember seeing my semen in the condom while removing it. I am really scared now because I know I have put myself for the first time in my life in real danger.

What are the risks of transmitting any STD diseases especially HIV from this episode if she is infected with anything? I did not had sy anymptoms so far just some dry cough and nose running 2 days after the episode that lasted for around 5 days. I am really horrified and I cant stop thinking of it. I am also planning or having a duo test next week at your clinic

Thanks in advance

Hi doctors,

I'm concerned that I may have put myself at risk and may need PEP due to an incident at 2:30am on Sunday morning. I had a lot to drink and ended up in a sauna in Glasgow and fooled around with some guys. From what I can remember there was oral (both ways) rimming (both ways) and lots of body contact. One man in particular was quite rough with the oral and really forced his penis into my mouth causing me to gag and choke - clearly not very pleasant.

My issue is that I can't remember any penetrative intercourse taking place and as much as I can't remember it taking place, I can't remember it not taking place either and my mind is starting to go wild with worry. I'm pretty sure nobody penetrated me as I'm sure I would be aware of it the next day at the very least. Because I was drunk and tired I seem to remember falling asleep in one of the rooms and awoke with two men entering the room. My concern is that when I was asleep one of them perhaps climbed on top of me and inserted my penis into his anus....

My friend tells me this is unlikely and that if I can remember entering and leaving the sauna as well as walking around and kissing men then I'm really unlikely to not remember fucking someone...this seems logical to me and is the reason I have no sought PEP yet but as my time is running out I'm just becoming more and more concerned that I may have forotten something vital. I'm also concerned that I may have got semen in my eye but again I cant be definite.

Please help with your advice.

Dr. Sean,

Male, 58 years old.

Event:
About 12 weeks ago, I spent the evening at a sauna and received unprotected oral sex (I was the insertive partner) from 3 different men at about 45 minute intervals. Had been drinking, but am near certain that the exposure was limited to receiving oral sex. However, there is an outside chance that a high risk exposure with one of the men may have occurred, namely unprotected insertive anal intercourse (me being the insertive partner). Although I have no specific or for that matter even vague recollection of it actually happening, just an abiding and I hope irrational fear, that has caused great anxiety.

Symptoms:
- At week 2 post exposure I developed an oral herpes sore (have had oral herpes for decades). Unusual in that it appeared on both lower and upper lips, when I only normally get it on my upper lip. The sores disappeared within the usual 10 days.
- At week 4 post exposure my tongue started to feel raspy and the tip became both sensitive and somewhat numb. This lasted about 1 week.
- At week 6, my groin glands (especially the right one) became quite sensitive for about 2 days, then subsided into a dull morning ache for about 5 days before disappearing.

Tests:
- At week 7 post exposure, tested NEGATIVE for the usual STD's; chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis.
- At week 8 post exposure (actually 55 days) tested NEGATIVE for HIV, using the 4th generation combined P24 antigen, Hiv1/2 Antibody test.

The tests were done through a government licensed community health center here in Canada. I beleive the lab uses the Abbott Axim test kit for the HIV Duo test.

The Health center Hiv counselor says that with 4th generation testing, waiting 3 months is no longer necessary. They test at week 6 post exposure onwards and consider the results very reliable and conclusive.

I am vaccinated against Hep A & B, and am circumcised since birth.

Questions:
1- Considering my known (and possible) exposure risks as well as my symptoms, do you consider my 8 week post exposure, 4th generation NEGATIVE HIV test result as final and conclusive?

2- Am told that at 8 week post exposure there is a vanishingly small chance that an HIV infection could be missed or go undetected using the 4th generation P24Ag, Hiv1/2 Ab test, and that cases of people testing Positive at 12 weeks post exposure, after having tested Negative at 8 weeks using the 4th generation test are basically unheard of.
Do you concur, any comments or reservations?

3- Is there any reason I should retest at 12 weeks?

4- What is the occurrence or percentage of 4th Generation HIV False Positive test results?

Thanks, hope to hear from you soon.
