Default Mental health question

My Dr has put me on paroxetine, because I suffer with anxiety. I have been told to increase the dose weekly by 10mg up to a total of 50mg. My question is, I have been suffering with night sweats and a dry throat, I want to say sore, but its not really sore its just uncomfortably dry, and sucking a sweet helps more than having a drink. Can you tell me if the night sweats and this throat thing can be side effects of this drug, I have also had difficulty getting to sleep at night? Thanks

Hello, there!
Paroxetine is a selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitor used to treat anxiety, and the maximum recommended daily dose is 50mg, however is rarely needed in doses higher than 20 or 40mg. Possible side effects include night sweting, insomnia and dry mouth. These usually wear off with time, but if you find them to difficult to tolerate or very severe, I recommend you discussing with your doctor a reduction in the dose or a change in the medication.
Best wishes,
Jose
