Over the past year I have experienced a range of symptoms which seem to mainly come and go. They are:
Sore mouth / tongue with frequent ulcers (feels like my mouth has been burnt all of the time)
Sore throat on and off for 9 months
Rash (raised red bumps) starting on hands and moving over body (comes every few months and lasts for around 1 week)
Urine sypmtoms (feeling the need to urinate all of the time even when I don't - no discharge - happens every few months and lasts for around 2 weeks)
Loud crunching / grinding sound when moving my head from side to side (started a few months ago and has never gone away and is load enough for others to hear)
I have been tested for pretty much everything (many blood tests), including all STIs, but everything is negative. Near when these first started I got some anxiety about it (thinking it was HIV) and one of the GPs from my surgery noted down that my symptoms were all in my head which really frustrated me as I don't think that I am taken very seriously any more there, even though the symptoms all came well before the anxiety.
My question is does anything spring to mind when looking at the above symptoms? Although I do not think that it is anything all that serious, it is very frustrating being ill all of the time.
Any thoughts / advice would be hugely appreciated.
Hi, James!
First of all, I would like to reassure you as these symptoms have absolutely nothing to do with HIV. Also, the fact that some of them are intermittent, makes me thing that it cannot be anything too serious, especially because all the blood tests that you have had were negative. Were you tested for glandular fever? Have you had a throat swab? Have they tested for an STD like Chlamydia or Gonorrhoea in the throat?
Are you very run down? They could be recurrent viral illnessess, combined with oral thrush? It is certainly difficult to give you an answer without seeing you!
The crunching of your head has certainly nothing to do with the other symptoms and sounds to be more related to your neck and/or spine.
Best wishes,
Jose
