Dear Doctor,
I am a 33 yo gay male. I stupidly started a course of anabolic steroids I got from a friend of mine, but now have been informed that I need to start a medication called clomid 3 weeks after stopping my steroids to ensure a return of proper testiclar/ amle hormone axis function. Is it possible to get this medication on prescription from the clinic as I am too embarrassed to ask my local GP who I know personally.
At the same time I am afraid my health will be affected if I do NOT taken this medication as advised.

This is precisely the main problem about using medication not prescribed by a doctor and also there are many risks involved when using drugs without knowing their exact origin. I know that clomid is used for the purporse you mention, but this is not licensed in the UK and very few doctors would be prepared to prescribe it unless they have experience in treating bodybuilders. I would doubt that your GP, even as a friend, would prescribe it under those circumstances! Due to all the above, as we do not routinely prescribe courses of anabolic steroids, we would not be in the position to prescribe clomid either. We do not have experience in this field and my advice would be for you to get in touch with a doctor specialised in sports medicine and bodybuilding.
