Default Weeing a lot

Hi there

Over the last 5 days I seem to be weeing more often than normal, and once I have been to the loo feel like I need to go again straight away afterwards. I have no burning or anything like that, just the urge to wee.

I had STI checks 6 weeks ago and they all came back clear, and I havent put myself at risk since.

Is it possible that it just the cold weather that is affecting me ?

Many thanks

Hello, there!
It could be a urinary tract infection, and if you are a man, it could also be a prostate problem. First of all, you need a urine test to see if you have contracted an infection (UTIs are not sexually transmitted and are treatable with antibiotics).
Best wishes,
jose

Default Mee too

Hi Dr Jose

I had a similar problem around 6 weeks ago. For a period of about 2 weeks, I felt like I continuously needed to urinate, even within 2 minutes of doing so. When I did go, there was very little pressure and I tended to dribble a fair amount afterwards.

I went to a GUM clinic and got tested for the usual and they said that it was all clear. I also went to my GP and he tested my urine and said that there was no sign of infection at all. I did mention prostate issues to him as a possiblilty but he said I was far too young for that (I am 34). Do you agree with that? The problem went away on its own but my symptoms really seemed to match those connected with prostatitis etc.

Any advice would be really appreciated. The issue seems to have gone away now but it was very odd and may well come back.

Thanks

Hi, there!
I would agree with your GP in regards of your age and the unliklihood of having an enlarged prostate; however prostatitis can happen at practically any age, and that might have been the problem, as sometimes can resolve on its own. I would not worry about it, because now you don't have any symptoms.
Best wishes,
Jose
