In october last year i came to your clinic for a Hiv duo test. I have to say i was very impressed with your service. However in my free time i pop onto the forum and look through some of the questions and now i think that my mind is playing tricks on me.
I will explain my story and hope you can help, i am a young guy who went to a house party. On that night i slept or i should i say was told i had slept with this girl. Now i am not being rude but i know a bit about this girl and she has slept with a lot of people. And sometimes does weed this made me a little bit more scared that she might do other things. So in october exactly a month i came to your clinic to have a hiv duo test done and it came back negative. To my relief i thought i could put it behind me. Now when i look through the website you say that the test is 99.89 reliable? But if taken at the right time would it be accurate? I do remember saying to the receptionist i was going to come in early and was told i would be wasting my money. I would really appreciate a reply i am proberly thinking the worst case senario and do not want to test again as i hate needles...
The HIVDUO test is licensed as 99.89% accurate at 28 days or beyond.
A straightforward antibody test is licensed as 99.99% acurate at 12 weeks or beyond. No test is 100% - in fact to quote someone whose name I can't currently remember, the only things in life that are certain are birth, taxes and death.
You are being silly. You have
1) drawn conclusions about this girl on the basis of gossip
2) you don't recall having sex with her
3) you think she might be HIV positive though you have no knowledge of this
4) and you think that an extremely reliable test might have missed the zero chance that you have picked up HIV.
thanks for the quick reply. Yes i am a little bit silly. So as i have taken the test at the appropriate time is it safe to say i do not have hiv and do not need to re test?
