about two year ago, i had and anal wart, which i went to my local Gum CLINIC- i had the wart frozen off with four treatments, after that the wart just fell off it was about the size of a pinhead and it was located just by the opening approx few cm's away of the anus
after i began to itch after a few months a assumed the wart was coming back so i went to the local GUM again and they prescribed me with some canesten cream which i used for a few months, then aprrox the start of this year the itch was intermittent maybe twice a week it would start itching like mad, again i went back to the GUM and they said the wart has gone. they prescribed me trimovate cream, used that for a few months, itch went now is back, i try not to scratch there and don't know if im scratching that area when im asleep,
so im assuming the HPV virus is still in the skin somewhere for causing the horrible annoying itch!!
i do have a regular partner and we always use condoms, and i never receive anal sex, the odd occasional i get fingered, is there any risk hear of HPV anal cancer as i Dont receive anal sex just the odd time been fingered now and then,
i have looked there is a tiny small scratch where the wart was but NO signs of the wart appearing etc just this annoying itch, im not sure what else the GUM clinic can do any ideas or suggestions or any type of cream or lotion i can you to kill off any remaining cells of the virus?
If you're still having unexplained itching then you should return to see your doctor or the doctors at the clinic and be re-examined. There are many causes of anal itching - HPV is a possibility but thrush and or haemorrhoids are also common reasons.
You don't say whether you're male or female; gay or straight or give your age - all of these would be helpful to me.
In people who have anal sex - penetrative anal sex or fingering it is possible to move HPV -human papilloma virus up inside the anal canal. In the anal canal HPV can sometimes cause the appearance of warts or sometimes anal pre-cancers or cancers.
You can test for HPV in this area by taking an HPV DNA PCR swab which will identify the subtypes and it is also possible to take an anal PAP smear which will take cells, rather like a cervical smear, and we can then examine the cells for pre-cancerous or cancerous changes. In cases where we find suspicious areas then we tend to do High Resolution Anoscopy to reveal the abnormal areas.
im male, 35, bi, and i dont receive anal sex, so cause i had a wart which was removed, and if there is still traces of the virus there it can get pushed up towards the anal canal?
what is the likeliness of that i could have anal cancer, as there must me thousands of men who get genital warts right?
what are them main symptoms of anal cancer?

do the NHS to all these tests ant the GUM CLINIC, if not what are the costs, how many trips to the clinic etc, as im up north,
Hi
Been to the gum clinic the doctor had a look and said it is a small hemoroids and I said I was concerned about h p v anal cancer he said don't worry it's not thousands get anal warts he said I would have other symptoms Inc weight loss and bleeding
im male, 35, bi, and i dont receive anal sex, so cause i had a wart which was removed, and if there is still traces of the virus there it can get pushed up towards the anal canal?
Yes

Not at all likely. Approximately 90% of people who are sexually active will have HPV on the skin (the tissue inside the anal canal is "skin"). Only less than 0.5% of the 90% will have any problem with either ano-genital pre-cancers or cancers or with warts.
what are them main symptoms of anal cancer?
Itch, bleeding, a lump

do the NHS to all these tests ant the GUM CLINIC, if not what are the costs, how many trips to the clinic etc, as im up north, they may do - many clinics around the country do so you will have to ask your local clinic. Some restrict it to men who are HIV positive - the "general" population has a rate of anal cancer of less than 1 case per 100,000 population; men who have sex with other men have a rate of around 35 per 100,000 population and HIV positive people up to 170 per 100,000 population so you can see that it differs enormously.
I would hope that if the doctor examined you then all would be well.
Anal pre-cancers and some cancers are not excluded by plain visual examination. You'll have to ask the doctor concerned about how certain he or she may be regarding the absence of any abnormality as I have not had the benefit of examining you.
