I am a gay man, hiv-, in a committed relationship. A few weeks ago, while on business, I went to the steamroom in the hotel (in a gay-friendly town) I was at, and was enjoying the steam. A man came in, sat right next to me, began masturbating himself briefly (I think with his left hand) and reached over and grabbed my testicles and penis (mostly my testicles), told me he was a bottom, and asked if I wanted to have some fun. I immediately (within 10 seconds or less), took his hand off of me, told him I wasn't interested, urinated in the mens room, showered, and left. As I was leaving. he told me that he's a bottom if I change my mind... I should note that I am uncircumsized, and that his hand was moist (probably from the steamroom and the required shower beforehand, but who knows if he had some of his pre-ejaculate on his hand too).
Here are my questions:
1) Having read a lot about the infectability of foreskin by HIV, and knowing that I am uncircumsized, was there a risk that his precum (if present) mixed with the moisture on his hand could have infected me?
2) Do I need to test for HIV? How about any other STD? This is the ONLY risk I have ever had in the past 10 years.
3) Is it safe to resume sexual activity with my long-term partner (whom I've already told about this bizarre event) without protection?
I know this all sounds like I am worrying over nothing, but your recent comments about semen in the eye being more infectious than semen in the mouth on one of your replies made me wonder if pre-semen that could have potentially touched my foreskin or glans would be equally worrisome. I need to know. Thanks.
1) Having read a lot about the infectability of foreskin by HIV, and knowing that I am uncircumsized, was there a risk that his precum (if present) mixed with the moisture on his hand could have infected me?I really don't think so - even assuming he was HIV positive which despite his enthusiasm for being a bottom I doubt
2) Do I need to test for HIV? How about any other STD? This is the ONLY risk I have ever had in the past 10 years.I would relax and forget about it - it seems weird but thats because it was rather weird - I think you'll be fine
3) Is it safe to resume sexual activity with my long-term partner (whom I've already told about this bizarre event) without protection?I think so - I really can't see any threat here at all.
