I am afraid we do not do that test here. The tests that we perform relating to Hepatitis C are as follows:
- HCV capsid Ag/Ab
- HCV Viral Load
- HCV Genotype
- HCV RNA PCR

So you do a Hepatitis C antigen thats good when can you take this test is 6 weeks ok

Hi there!
The most reliable combination would be to do 2 tests, if you want to exclude Hepatitis C completely at this stage (6 weeks), and these would be the HCV capsid Ag/Ab (detects the Antibodies and the Antigen of the viral capsid) and HCV RNA PCR. You would need a blood test for both and if both negative, that is final and conclusive. The results take 4 hours for the former, and 4 days for the latter. The prices are as follows:
1.) Consultation £125
2.) HCV Ab/Ag £84
3.) HCV RNA PCR £170

I have been assessing my situation, that the incident was sexual (both hetrosexual) and neither is a intvrevinous drug user.

I will do a Full Health Screen at 6 weeks and if all come back negative I think I will be fine.
