Default Encounter question

Hello,

First of all, thank you so much for providing such an informative website which truly talks to the point instead of all the overload information on the internet!

I'd like to speak of my recent encounter and just need advise as unfortunately the doctor here doesn't speak at all! It's like i had to request myself this and other tests.

A while back, i received unprotected oral sex from a woman and i had ejaculated in her mouth after which she immediately went and rinsed.

Questions:

1- Am i (male) at a risk of HIV in this case?

2- I had the PCR test done at 7 days (negative) - One month later had HIV antigen + antibody test (negative) and at 8 weeks and also at 10 weeks (i think it was hiv antigen plus antibody, had it because was going to have a liver surgery) . Can i conclude these tests to be enough and safely say i do not have HIV, because i will be getting married in a while and do not want to put my partner at any risk.

3- Should i have the HIV test again? Also, i had some other STD tests done, i'm not sure which ones they are, i was wondering if i could email you my reports and you could have a look at them and let me know if i need to do any other ones?

Once again, thank you so much!

Hello,

You asked:-

Quote:

No - you are not at risk of HIV through being sucked.

You have been tested to death - you do not need to test again - you were firstly not at risk by the event and secondly all these tests have established that you are fine

3- Should i have the HIV test again? Also, i had some other STD tests done, i'm not sure which ones they are, i was wondering if i could email you my reports and you could have a look at them and let me know if i need to do any other ones?
I'd suggest you type out the tests and results as you have them and we'll have a look. I think on balance this is all out of proportion for you now and I think you were very probably never at risk.
best regards, Sean

Thank you Dr Sean for your answers. Below i've summarized the other tests i did:

HIV Test at one Month:
(is this the same as the HIV Duo test with same accuracy?)

Test - HIV | & || Abs+p.24 Antigen (serum)
Result - 0.36
Units - S/CO
Methodology - MEIA

STD's at 2 Months:

Tests:

Hepatitis B Surface Antigen
Hepatitis C Virus Antibody
RPR
Chlamydia Antigen (Urine)
Gram Stain for Gonorrhoea - Urine Sediment (no bacteria seen)
HSV - || lgG

All above tests were with results of either negative/non reactive

Can i conclude both that i do not have any STD and HIV most importantly? I received the oral sex from an escort.

My concern is high only because i am getting married and in no way would i want to cause my partner any harm.

Thanks again for all the help.

Hello,

Yes, all the tests you have had are negative and you can dismiss them as threats.

As I said earlier, you are not at risk of HIV acquisition through receiving oral sex - being sucked.

best wishes and Happy New Year, Sean
