i tried looking up something on these lines in the archive but could not find...

last Sunday i visited a sex worker. i had no anal/vaginal or oral sex with her, as I know these pose a risk for HIV or other STIs. She just gave me a handjob, and I licked her thighs and toes/feet.

however, on Friday i started feeling a swelling in the roof of my mouth, which was diagnosed as a root abscess on saturday...the doctor prescribed antibiotics (Augmentin).

Is there any risk of HIV/STIs in this scenario?

Thanks for your reply - just to confirm that I do not need to worry though I did not 'examine' her feet prior to licking/sucking (it sounds revolting to me too now, but that is why they call it 'the heat of the moment'), but I don't remember seeing any blood or cuts or wounds, though, of course, the feet are subject to things such as athlete's foot.... I wasn't intoxicated either.

No, I really don't think there's anything to be concerned with. Obviously there are miscellaneous other issues with feet - athlete's foot being an example as you point out but other than that, there would be no risk of anything.
