my question is can i catch a sti / std from a hand job?
i made the mistake of getting one from an escort, and i really want to know if i need to get tested.

I have to say it would be very unlikely indeed that you would contract an STD from a hand-job.

I have had one patient in 25 years of practice who was a gay male who visited a gay sauna and was simply touched on the head of his penis by another male and developed syphilis after that. He's a reliable patient and was able to discount any prior episodes. However, if I think of all the stories and tales I have heard in my entire medical life I think it would be exceptionally unlikely that you would be in a similar position.

Syphilis is very very very rare in heterosexuals in Europe and the UK so the chances of this are tiny. I was using this example as an illustration of how unlikely this would be for you.

I do not believe syphilis would be a risk for you - in men who have sex with other men then the rates are very high.

If you do want to test for syphilis then 28 days is the limit - but again, my point was that in 25 years I have heard of this method of transfer only once and in a very unusual situation.

I do not believe you are at risk.
