First of all I would like to say a heart felt thank you to you and your team for the support that I have recieved form this forum over the last few months.
My exposure in brief as much as I can.
1. Unprotected oral both ways, Protected receptive anal with male status unknown. I did not see the condom but I put it on him but and he removed it to ejactulate over my tummy.... I think you will say no risk for this.
2. Week after I had insertive anal with a guy after he pushed abck on to me unprotected five trusts I realized that frottage was actually insertive. I withdrew and he then had oral sex with me in which I ejactulated in his mouth. I then washed with anti bacterial etc ect. This guy again staus unknown although said he was clean, but thats not a certain
Just prior to this period I went on holiday in the UK and got a tummy upset, I think after doing lots of sea swimming in Cornwall. GP took stool sample and put me on Eythromicin during which on day three on this I started feeling ill, sweaty, achy, numbess face, swelling lips , heavy arms, stinging armpits. sentitive skin in patches tops of leg and shoulder and lower back ( No rash)
No temp as temp was 36.5 to 37.4 tops all the time , no sore throat or any rash.
Went to A&E as I was worried it was the meds, they said i was getting shingles ??? although I had no rash. They put me on Acyclovir. I stopped taking the Antibiotics took antihistimine x 3 and I felt better my face got better and numbness went, fely better no 100%.
I think it may be a reaction to the antibiotic. ...
I searched the net and then the anxiety started I decided to get tested.
I tested at a Uk GUM clinic at 24 days post exposure , and was checked out for all STD's The test for HIV was a 4 th Generation Abbott Ab/AG test. The HIV test and all the STD test came back negative.
I was also tested for HEP A & B in which they said I needed to have a rapid course Twinrix as my HepB cover was low and no registerable Hep A although I am sure I had the Hep jabs 8/9 years ago.
While taking the Hep Course of three jabs in all over the four weeks I felt really unwell for four weeks, achy , stingy arms, achy groin and armpits no nodes or swelling, mild sore throat... No temp or rash ..
I decided to test again much to the annoyance of the clinic for HIV again with Abbott Ab/AG this was now at 9 weeks 2 days again negative.
I have been wooried about the exosure so I ended up going back to the GP who has put me on anti anxiety tabs... which are really ok and I have seemed to be much more even minded.
I have continued to aches and pains very very mild sore throat and a slight oral trush , all in which in the last week have nearly all gone, I hav egone on a healthy eating thing...
I am not on any autoimmune meds amd have no STD's basically have been a healthy guy up to the last months or so... hence the stress and concern. I had had no exposures since my first on the 15 October 2010 to date. Previously always used protection for penatrative sex but not for oral.
I. Are my tests in order and conclusive.
2. Can you confirm my risk/s for a need to retest after my last previous test.
3.Can I put the big line under this event.
Many thanks
Phil
Ps ( Great forum I even found myself even advocating your testing on other sites who do not agree with duo/combi testing and better testing windows)
Thank you for your nice comments and I'm glad to have been of assistance. I've copied your question beneath and will answer point by point.

I decided to test again much to the annoyance of the clinic for HIV again with Abbott Ab/AG this was now at 9 weeks 2 days again negative.good - you are HIV negative

I. Are my tests in order and conclusive.yes, I certainly think so - the evidence is that an HIV DUO test at 28 days is highly accurate - greater than 99.5%. You had two tests - the second at 9.2 weeks - the two together effectively rule out HIV infection. You should note though that the UK Guidelines suggest an HIV DUO at 4 weeks post exposure with if necessary an antibody test at 12 weeks. My opinion is that you are fine.
2. Can you confirm my risk/s for a need to retest after my last previous test.you've had two HIV DUO tests and I would not encourage you to retest
3.Can I put the big line under this event. I believe so - the event itself was brief, you have had two very accurate tests (although the first was rather early) - I do not see any change if you were to have any more tests.
Many thanks
Phil

Many thanks for your super speedy reply.. its done me the world of good.
I made a slight typo my 1 st test was actually 27 days not 24 days post sry..
I have a extra 2 question if I may please.
You have mentioned the UK guidelines for 12 week testing, which I understand is the was it is...
I have read many many of your replies over the years and you have always given a fair balanced assessment with your years of professional experience in this area.
Would you please mind just clarifying this as I dont understand this bit. When I asked if the Duo/Combi tests where conclusive?
You said "You should note though that the UK Guidelines suggest an HIV DUO at 4 weeks post exposure with if necessary an antibody test at 12 weeks. My opinion is that you are fine"........
Q. Would testing out to 12 weeks be for only certain assessments that are made ie: higher risk & symptoms etc. ?
I understood that the 4th Generation tests ( ab/ag) were conclusive at 28 days onwards in most if not all cases.
Q. So as I understand your response I can now close this chapter in my life and move on for the 2011 without having a worry anymore.
I hope I am allowed a second question opportunity.

Hi Phil - I thought I had clarified that before I wrote it - yes, I certainly think so - the evidence is that an HIV DUO test at 28 days is highly accurate - greater than 99.5%. You had two tests - the second at 9.2 weeks - the two together effectively rule out HIV infection. You should note though that the UK Guidelines suggest an HIV DUO at 4 weeks post exposure with if necessary an antibody test at 12 weeks. My opinion is that you are fine. My intention by making this comment was that I was giving my professional opinion which is that the two tests together completely rule out HIV - I felt though that you should be aware that the "official" guidance from the DoH is that a DUO should be provided at 4 weeks and a further test at three months if needed / desired. Very many people like that further reassurance. In your case I think you are fine and negative.
Q. Would testing out to 12 weeks be for only certain assessments that are made ie: higher risk & symptoms etc. ?correct
I understood that the 4th Generation tests ( ab/ag) were conclusive at 28 days onwards in most if not all cases.
correct
Q. So as I understand your response I can now close this chapter in my life and move on for the 2011 without having a worry anymore.Absolutely correct - my view is that you are fine for all the reasons previously given and that you do not need to test again.
I hope I am allowed a second question opportunity.you certainly are Sir!
