Default mycoplasma

hello there you might get another question very similar to this one. I sent a thread yesterday but im not sure if the payment went through or not thats why im gonna do it again.
After your expert opinions on a few things really. I had unprotected hetrosexual sex in august im male.
after this episode i waited my time and had a gonorea and chlamidya and nsu test done. Both came back negative. until recently id never heard of mycoplasma and ureplasma so when i heard of them i went back to my local GUM clinic. The doctor that i spoke to there said that they dont routinely test for either of them but if i was to have either of them then my NSU would of shown some indication of infection. IS THIS RIGHT? When i gave the sample the doctor did say there was some mucus in my sample. IS THIS NORMAL? In mid december i had to go for a scan because i was having problems with my testes( varicocele) I had to give the hospital a sample to and when i went back for the results of the scan the doctor said my urine was fine. He said it was checked for any infection. WOULD THIS OF SHOWN SOME SORT OF INDICATION IF I HAD AN INFECTION EVEN IF IT WAS STD RELATED? Also i had a herpes test done 6 weeks after the incident at another private clinic same street as you actually but didnt no about you at the time. The test was igm/igg. HOW RELIABLE WOULD YOU SAY THESE RESULTS ARE? I understand the results aren conclusive until 12 weeks. HOW RELIABLE IS THE IGM PART OF THIS TEST COS IVE HEARD THATS NOT TO RELIABLE? AND WHY IS THE IGM PART NOT RELIABLE? Also i had a hiv duo test done at 2,5 and 8 months. IF MY BODY FOR WHATEVER REASON DIDNT PRODUCE ANTIBODIES WOULD THE P24 ALWAYS BE DETECTABLE UNTIL ANTIBODIES ARE PRODUCED WHETHER IT BE 4 WEEKS OR 8 MONTHS? Hopefully you can help me out a bit here. Thanks for reading this and hear from you soon

Default mycoplasma

Hello, thank you for posting. I've repeated your question beneath and added my comments in red:-

IS THIS RIGHT? yes- it is likely to be - NSU is diagnosed by finding white cells = infection markers - in a penile swabWhen i gave the sample the doctor did say there was some mucus in my sample. IS THIS NORMAL?no although occasionally males will have traces of semen in their samples which may give rise to a comment like that In mid december i had to go for a scan because i was having problems with my testes( varicocele) I had to give the hospital a sample to and when i went back for the results of the scan the doctor said my urine was fine. He said it was checked for any infection. WOULD THIS OF SHOWN SOME SORT OF INDICATION IF I HAD AN INFECTION EVEN IF IT WAS STD RELATED? yes - but not a sexually transmitted one unless that was explicitly tested forAlso i had a herpes test done 6 weeks after the incident at another private clinic same street as you actually but didnt no about you at the time. The test was igm/igg. HOW RELIABLE WOULD YOU SAY THESE RESULTS ARE? very at the appropriate interval = 12 weeks from a suspect episodeI understand the results aren conclusive until 12 weeks. HOW RELIABLE IS THE IGM PART OF THIS TEST COS IVE HEARD THATS NOT TO RELIABLE? AND WHY IS THE IGM PART NOT RELIABLE? because the Ig part of both tests is an antibody response and different people take a different time frame to form them - IgM is formed first and IgG is formed secondAlso i had a hiv duo test done at 2,5 and 8 months. IF MY BODY FOR WHATEVER REASON DIDNT PRODUCE ANTIBODIES WOULD THE P24 ALWAYS BE DETECTABLE UNTIL ANTIBODIES ARE PRODUCED WHETHER IT BE 4 WEEKS OR 8 MONTHS? you will produce antibodies but yes, the p24 would have been present at the 2.5 month test - p24 will fade with time and the detectable levels will vary as the disease time frame goes onHopefully you can help me out a bit here. Thanks for reading this and hear from you soon
Very best wishes, Sean

thanks for your reply! What else could be the cause of mucus in the urine? I understand what your saying about the herpes test but in your professional opinion and from your experience how reliable would you say my herpes test was at 6 weeks? Is there a break between the production of igm and igg antibodies? Also my hiv tests would you say they were conclusive? Ive had swollen nodes in my neck for quite a while if this was anything to do with hiv or hepatitis would my body of produced antibodies? I had hep b and c test at 4 months nhs? Have you seen someone test negative on a duo at 2 and 5 months then test positive at 8 months? Sorry to hassle you i no your a busy man but your a great help to alot of people thanks again

sorry something i forgot to mention! Before my urine sample was sent of the clinic had a look under the microscope also while i was there not sure if it was the urine or the swab they looked at though! The doctor said there were traces! He said it could be anything but wasnt concerned about anything sexual as everything else read fine and i cant remember what they were called but a couple things beginning with L were not seen which was why he wasnt concerned about anything sexual thanks once more

Hello

You've asked the following further questions:--

thanks for your reply! What else could be the cause of mucus in the urine?many things but most likely semen - I can't comment further as I don't have enough info and your further further question doesn't add much to that I understand what your saying about the herpes test but in your professional opinion and from your experience how reliable would you say my herpes test was at 6 weeks? not reliableIs there a break between the production of igm and igg antibodies? noAlso my hiv tests would you say they were conclusive?yes Ive had swollen nodes in my neck for quite a while if this was anything to do with hiv or hepatitis would my body of produced antibodies? I had hep b and c test at 4 months nhs? then you don't have either of those illnessesHave you seen someone test negative on a duo at 2 and 5 months then test positive at 8 months? noSorry to hassle you i no your a busy man but your a great help to alot of people thanks again

Best wishes, Sean
