Default Needle prick

Dear Drs

I read somewhere that for needle pricks, you'd have to wait at least 6 months before the result could be said to be conclusive that the person did not catch HIV. Would the duo test pick up on the virus much sooner and would the result be conclusive or would the person need to do another test later on? 28 days as opposed to 6 months worrying is surely a huge difference...

Thanks and regards

M

Default Needle prick

Good morning

There is no difference at all in the route of possible HIV transmission and the testing interval or mechanism.

An HIV DUO at 28 days or beyond will settle the matter.

Best regards, Sean
