my background is 7 months ago I had unprotected sex with a female I met one drunken night. I later heard that she was an ex drug addict and perhaps?? had worked as a sex worker. At 12 days I went to the GUM clinic and had HIV, Gon & Chlamydia tests as feeling really bad (physically and mentally) - tests all negative. At that time was given 2 types of antibiotic and started on Hep B immunisation. Doc felt I was just panicking etc but felt awful so hard to put all down to this. At 12 weeks returned and had HIV duo, Syph and Hep test - all negative. Still feeling bad (fatigue, nausea, itchy, skin problem etc etc list of symptoms is long!) so went to private clinic at 16 weeks and had Hiv and Syph instant tests and hep blood tests- all negative. Also had a long chat with the doc and he reassured me. This really helped and started to feel a lot better and more positive mentally. The problem is now I am still itchy all over especially soles of feet, palms of hands and rectum and still have a heat/ allergy type rash over torso, back and upper arms. Also have vision changes in one eye but maybe unrelated as started wearing glasses for reading.
Problem is when I search for causes of symptoms I keep coming up with syphilis, which has started the std worry again. I have browsed your website/ forum (which is excellent) and have come up with a few questions/ queries I hope you can help me with.
First one is - are these current symptoms related to syphilis or an other std etc?
Second - in one of the forum replies re syph it was mentioned that it is possible to have symptoms from syph but to test negative - I couldn't work out what stage that was at. Therefore are my tests ok time-wise or do I need to test again for syph?
next - I never tested for herpes - could symptoms be this
Finally - from reading your website and my chat with private doc am I right in assuming I can say that there is a 99% chance of not having HIV or Hep?
Sorry to sound a bit of a hypochondriact but if I could understand/ get rid of these last few symptoms I think I would be back to normal again

my main concern was that it was possible the syphilis tests had been negative even though I had symptoms. As I said in my previous post I had read in a reply on the forum that this was possible although I was not sure of the timings this was referring to. From what you say 12 weeks and instant at 16 weeks would by definately accurate result - is that correct?
