I will give you a breif explination of my exposure and would like your advice in terms of risk.
Gave unprotected oral sex to a Black female lap dancer in a UK lapdancing club for about 20 seconds. I had a tooth absess at the same time in August 2010.
I Had a HIV test at 6.5 weeks post exposure, negative. (My doctor advised me it was 4th Generation, not convinced she actually knew!!!)
I gave blood for the first time during a "blood drive" at my work, which was 16.5 weeks post exposure, 5 weeks later i recieved a donor card with my blood type on it and a "thank you" letter from the NBTS. It has now been 4 months since i gave blood, no other contact.
My girlfriend recently joined the NHS and had to have a HIV test due to her role within the NHS at 19 weeks post exposure, negative. I irresponsibly had unprotected sex with her 3 or 4 times between week 2 and 7 post exposure.
What was / is the risk and why?
Do I / we require further testing, please explain why?
First off - I've removed and deleted all your card details from your post! You'd have your identity cloned in two secs and I'd be ringing up Selfridges ordering new suits on you if I wasn't so honest!!
Second, you don't have HIV. The sex you describe is ultra-ultra low risk if at all and you've had negative HIV testing.
You should not have given blood if you were at all uncertain and I believe there are questions relating to sex with sex workers on the blood transfusion centre form??? One of my friends died following contamination with an HIV infected blood transfusion some years ago and I've met many patients contaminated by infected blood transfusions with Hep C and HIV - so please, respect the rules.
Finally, no, you cannot regard your girlfriend as a surrogate marker for your own HIV status.
You do not have HIV - your test was negative and your exposure was boringly low risk. But always have your own tests and be sure if you have doubt.
best wishes, Sean
The the last time i bought a suit it was from "Asda (George)" I am not sure my credit card limit would be able to stretch to your opulent taste, but thanks anyway.
Final question......would the fact that i had a tooth absess make any differance in terms of risk, just curious?
