Hi

About 1 year ago i gave unprotected oral sex ( there was ejeculation) This was my first act of oral sex and i have not performed it since then

I took a finger prick test INSTI and it was NEG also 9 to 10 months after exposure i took a DUO test which was NEG

my question is, are these test accurate and that time frame?

Default Oral sex HIV risk

Good Morning,

The HIV INSTI test you have had done is an excellent test and will have been accurate.

There are cases where people sucking males have acquired HIV through that. They are few and far between and it is not thought to represent a significant risk.

In any event, you've had a negative HIV test using the excellent third generation HIV INSTI. You are not HIV positive.

You will potentially have been exposed to other STD's etc by sucking and so you may need to consider being tested for those. Going forward it may be an idea to consider getting vaccinated for Hepatitis B to prevent acquisition of this illness if this were to be repeated.

best wishes, Sean

Your full STD screening one year after exposure is totally conclusive and you do not need to get re-tested. You are absolutely fine, no need to worry, regardless of the fact that it was a heterosexual relation.
Kind regards,
José
