Dr Sean, I am worried I might have caught HIV from this situation in regards to a young lady who I don’t know her HIV status but know her ex boyfriend injected drugs.
She kissed me on the side of my cheek and I also kissed her on her cheek/face but our cheeks also touched and I noticed that she had a red pimple or maybe it was a small cut on her cheek and it looked like it had been bleeding but I don’t know if it was still bleeding and/or fresh and runny but it looked fresh. I also had a pimple which the top was knocked off it or it was a cut, not sure which and it was on my cheek and the pimple/cut was fresh but not sure if it was bleeding at the time, and the cheek that she had the cut/pimple on was on the cheek that touched the cheek that I had the cut/pimple on too. I am worried our cut/pimples touched and blood might have got into my cut/pimple from her cut/pimple? My cut/pimple and her cut/pimple must have either come very close or touched.
I am worried also blood from her cut/pimple might also have got in my eye, nose, mouth, ear, lips or any other tiny cut I might have had on my face that I didn’t notice that I had. I did notice after though that I had an eye lash or an eye brow hair on my eye ball which I had to get out as it was irritating, so was worried maybe it was her eyelash/eye brow hair and maybe blood from her cut/pimple was on the eyelash/eyebrow hair and then got in my eye? Or maybe it was one of my own that maybe she got a bit of blood on from her pimple/cut then the eye lash/eyebrow hair went into my eye.
Basically my two questions Dr Sean which I really would like an answer too are
1) Do I need to get an HIV test from this event?
2) Was I at risk of HIV from this event?
What I would find most helpful would be a straight Yes or No in red to those two questions.
1) Do I need to get an HIV test from this event? No - but if you remain concerned by it then obviously you will need to make a decision. I would not if it were me.
I do suffer from OCD and have had many tests and in even in you're office for HIV over events such as this, over every day events. Such as shaking hands etc.
The fact that I could see her pimple/cut was open maybe only seconds old and I could see it was still bleeding or had stopped and I also had an open red pimple or it was a cut, not sure which and it was on my cheek and the pimple/cut was fresh maybe only seconds old but not sure if it was bleeding at the time. I don't know if they touched but must have come close or touched as the cheek sh had the pimple/cut on touched the cheek I had the cut pimple on. It was a casual kiss, not even on the lips...In my mind I have blown it up to think I have caught HIV from this and I am so totally devastated that I now have to have yet another HIV test. I have had so many HIV tests and they give me relief for a day of so then the next thing happens like someone sneezing then have to have another HIV test.
1) Dr is there any cause for concern for HIV and I need to have an HIV test over this kiss event?
2) Can I forget it and move on knowing I could not have caught HIV from this casual kiss event?
