First off thanks for having this great resource available.
I'm really freaking out over my risk, I recently broke up with a boyfriend of 3 years and have since had multiple sexual partners to somehow fill the void.
This is what I've done:
1) Received blowjobs i.e. got sucked off by 3 different guys, one who seemed a little sick at the time I was hesitant but just let him suck me off anyway. I know the literature is no risk for this but just wanted to double check?
2) Two days ago I went to a gay club, and they had a back/play room that I went into and got sucked off multiple times and there was someone sucking me off through a glory hole, he tried to change over from sucking to put his ass on my penis but I quickly withdrew and later I ended up deep kissing him and a couple of other people and saw him having bareback sex. Note that my penis did not enter his ass at all he tried to but I refused completely! And withdrew from the glory hole as I was watching his mouth as he sucked me off. Do you think I was at risk? I did not do anything with this man apart from kiss him and let him suck me off and now I think he is most likely positive due to his willingness to have unprotected sex and later he asked me to leave with him and I asked if he was poz or neg and he said neg which obviously he had no clue about.
But anyway do you think I was at risk from this?
3) I also jerked off with a bunch of people in the room and felt no fluids on me but got sucked off by multiple people and kissed a lot. Some wanted me to "top" them but I refused.
Do you think I was at risk?
I know I could have been at risk of other STIs and I'm going to do a full screening but my main concern is HIV... I feel terrible about what I've been doing and what I did two days ago and was wondering if any of the information I've presented above poses a potential risk for infection?
I don't think there is any real chance of you acquiring HIV from the episodes you have described.
As you say, there is a distinct risk of other STD's being transmitted and you should be tested for these.
My one anxiety about your description is the number of different people all sucking you. My concern would be a theoretical one - which is that if you were sucked by multiple men one or all of whom may have had fresh semen in their mouth from an HIV positive member of the group then there might - a faint "might" but a might all the same - be a possible threat.
All the available evidence points strongly to the safety, HIV wise, of being sucked but that data / information does not factor in an orgy situation where one or more people may be collecting fresh, HIV positive semen in their mouths.
Consequently, although I think, like you that the risk is very small indeed, I would advise testing for HIV.
That's a good point, one that I didn't think of however the first guy that sucked me off hadn't sucked anyone off before me as we both went into the dark room at the same time so I'm assuming there's no risk here right from being sucked?
Also the other people that sucked me were three others if I remember right, one drank a bit of his alcohol right before sucking me and the other was seated on a stool for a while before I went up to him and got sucked , so I'm assuming there couldn't have been infectious semen left off in his mouth ...
HOWEVER if there was infectious semen in one of their mouths my question is, wouldn't saliva disable the HIV if they were to suck me off as I've read that saliva does kill of HIV?
I'd agree with you regarding the individual episodes you've described - not quite as prolific as I first thought.
Re the saliva and HIV story, yes, you are correct to say that in studies saliva has been seen to inactivate HIV. My concern - erroneous now from your clarification - was that there was lots of fresh semen swilling about in the sucker's mouth/s - therefore putting you at risk of direct contact between semen and your penis. I think its an unlikely threat but I do worry about you all!!
