Default Testing Advice Please

I would like your advice of some testing i had. Having read quite a few topics i didnt quite find the answer, so apologise if im repeating a subject..

I had an encounter ( whilst very drunk ) and not sure if the condom stayed tight on my penis as i was mostly soft. It was with a African CSW. So i got tested with a instant test at 6 weeks negative ( only concern i had was it was a week after an oppertion and wasnt to sure if they had injected any antifection drugs ) I did have symptoms, so i thought if i was negative after that i was ok..

I got got tested at 16 weeks ( to be conclusive ) again one instant and one with blood from the arm and both negative. Got tested for all STD's and Hepititas B and maybe A i think.. again all negative. This was at a private practise.

Im from UK and wondered if the tests i had would cover HIV 1 and 2.. or shall i say be 100% conclusive and i should not think about HIV again ( i know we all get paranoid for no reason and tests are conclusive ). The only reason im concerned is im having quite bad Peripheral Neuropathy in my feet and hands.. and wasnt to sure if the tests i had would pick up HIV2?

( This is the tests they mention on their site.
28 days afterwards using an HIV DUO test and 90 days afterwards using a standard HIV antibody test such as the HIV INSTI®. Further confirmatory tests may be necessary)

Many thanks for your time

Hello,
Thank you very much for your post and welcome to our forum.
I can assure you that your test is conclusive after 12 weeks and it does test for both HIV-1 and HIV-2 antibodies. With a negative Insti test at 16 weeks, you can be totally reassured that you have not contracted HIV.
If you think that you are experiencing symptoms of peripheral neuropathy, my advice to you is to consult your doctor and get a full neurological assessment.
Kind regards,
José

Many Thanks for Reply Doc Jose..

So all the negative test ive had for HIV and STD'd, would be conclusive that i havnt caught anything untoward from the sexual encounter ( i would go into detail about the illnesses after but tests are conclusive i guess )

PS i meant to say in my first post... This forum was a MASSIVE help to me in the early days before testing and waiting for my conclusive tests..I didnt post then until i had my results and only now because of NP, i just needed to double check..

Once again, thank you for the Forum, im sure its helped many more people than you can imagine, and the information on here is invaluable..

Regards
