Question Worried a little bit

Hello Doctors,
Great forum

I was at a concert and very drunk and I french kissed this random girl I did not know for about 30-60 minutes, involving lots of tongue. The kiss involved some minor gentle biting on her lips and tongue as well as mine. I had brushed my teeth prior to going out and there was an mouth/oral sore on one of my cheek (still there, usually there for couple of days). I do not know her oral health (was dark, loud) so do not know if she had bleeding gums or not.
I know there is usually not a risk of hiv from kissing, but given the above is there any risk at all (i.e. minor gentle biting, lenght of exposure, my oral sore and not knowing her/her oral health?)

I am asking specifically because I am thinking of entering a relationship with someone else and want to be sure I am clean before i engage in a sexual activity with this person (I was tested prior to the kissing incident and tested clean for all major stds).

1What are my hiv risks from this encounter given the specific circumstances?
2.What are the risks for other stds?
3.Would you recommend an hiv test given my situation?
4. Would your recommend tests for other stds given my situation?

Thanks!

Hello,
Thank you very much for your post and welcome to our forum.
I can assure you that kissining is safe, even under the circumstances that you describe. There is no risk of HIV infection at all whatsoever. Therefore there is no need for you to get tested. It is also highly unlikely that you would contract any other STDs this way and we would not recommend any specific testing for these.
Best wishes,
José
