Default Continuing test at 9 week after 6 week

Dr Sean and Dr Jose

I have posted before 4th Gen Test 6 Week for Protected Sex CSW and in the posting i said my test result 6 week after exposure negative (After 6 week CSW exposure in Indonesia with condom ejaculate inside until loose erection)

Yet due to anxiety i'm taking another test at 9 week (which is not recommended by you - my mistake and now realize driven more anxiety). Summary result :
- 6 Week : AB/AG Abbott Architect 0.11 (Non Reactive) - Value < 1 Non Reactive)
- 9 Week : AB/AG Abbott Architect 0.74 (Non Reactive) - Value < 1 Non Reactive)

Question :
1. Why this progressing? My understanding it's nothing to do with process seroconverting but more to specimen and lab condition is it correct?
2. Do you still on the advice for me to forget HIV and move on? I'm really planning with this test to move on is it ok for me to move on?
3. Can you probably give brief description how test run? is it use pre-program so where the test run is not matter?

Thanks for your time, lastly i can't post this reply on previous post so i make new thread

Thanks

Default Continuing HIV test at 9 week after 6 week

Good Morning

You are HIV negative. You had an excellent test at 6 weeks after PROTECTED sex.

You have asked:-

Quote:
1. Why this progressing? My understanding it's nothing to do with process seroconverting but more to specimen and lab condition is it correct?

You are correct, it is not progressing - it is entirely a lab element and we do not report numbers here because, as with you, patients do find it confusing and geneally upsetting
2. Do you still on the advice for me to forget HIV and move on? I'm really planning with this test to move on is it ok for me to move on?move on
3. Can you probably give brief description how test run? is it use pre-program so where the test run is not matterdifferent labs have different procedures - you'll need to ask your lab that question. The one thing I can say without any doubt at all is that you are NOT HIV positive from the event you are worrying about.
best wishes, Sean

Default Another Question

Dear Dr Sean

Thanks for the reply. You said that i had excellent test result at 6 week. Also my test result is it considered excellent result as well because it is negative even the index higher (0.74 below cut off <1) ??

The two result i had by 6 and 9 week strengthen the proof that i am HIV negative ? Another thing is abbott as good as Vidas that you are using in the lab?

(Please allow me to get answer on this one only follow up question)

Thanks and regards
