HIV1/2 Ab/Ag-CD and Antibody test

Hi Dr,

I'll keep it breif: i live in New Zealand, unprotected vaginal sex with my partner (she says she is neg)

5 1/2 weeks post exposure- HIV1/2 Ag/Ab-CD test done at Medlab here in NZ
2 weeks post the initial test, had an Antibody test done also through Medlab

2 viles (if thats the spelling) for each test.

both tests came back negative, now, my head has been working over time: if the Ag was neg- Ab would become positive in the first test? then if the first test missed any of the Ab, would the one i had 2 weeks post have picked them up?

I appreciate your time- My GP has told me i have nothing to worry about, aswell as Dr Hook from Medhelp- I am not questioning them at all, and value their opinions immensly, I would however also appreciate your opinion on it.

I am a South Arican bloke, and have made a R100 donation to an HIV charity in SA, and would be glad to make a donation here too.

Your doctor and the chap from Medhelp are correct.

The tests are negative, final and conclusive.

You are HIV negative.
