Hi

I had a rapid HIV test today and it came back negative, just a question i took antibiotics about 2 weeks ago would this affect the result i got. Amamoxcillin if thats how u spell it. How accurate is the test i waited 4 month just under before i went to be tested.

Would like to say your forum and website are great and gave me a lot of answers to so many questions.

Thanks!!

Hi, there!
I think you mean Amoxicillin. Taking antibiotics does not affect these tests. In any case, you do not need to worry, you're HIV negative. An antibody test would always be conclusive after 3 months, so you are ok!
Best wishes,
Jose
