Default Rapid Test 9 weeks

Hello Dr.Sean,Dr.Jose and Dr.Merv!
First of all I want to congratulate you on your wonderful forum as well as apologize for my English( I am not a native speaker). I have already posted on the forum but it seems that your reply was deleted I had an exposure to an ukrainian sex worker(not street walker, an expensive one). The exposure consisted of protected oral and vaginal sex, however, we didnt change the condom inbeetween. I was not very worried about exposure but then OCD kicked it and I started to doubt myself. I even "forgot" the fact that I used condom and started making up different stories. However, two my best friends confirmed that I was more than sure that a condom was used when we were speaking around 3 days after exposure and they told me that I was mostly worried that condom could have been damaged during the oral and missed it. My doctor who tested me at 4 weeks after exposure also confirmed the fact I was then mainly worried about tiny holes in the condom. Because of the OCD, I got a therapist and after couple section I indeed remembered that I used condom and it seemed not to have visible damages.Sorry for long introduction, so here are my questions:
1.) My doctor told that if condoms break it is undoubtedly obvious. Is it true?
2.)I got tested negatively two times at 4 and 9 weeks after the exposure with a rapid test called Determine AG/AB 1/2. My doctor called that test 3.5 generation since the antibody part is as good as the 3rd generation tests(like INSTI I suppose) but antigen part is not as good as real DUOs. My doctor told me that at 8 weeks that 3rd gen test are conclusive and that 12 weeks reccommendation is outdated.I have also received a similar responsesfrom Dr. Hook at medhelp forum. I have read your posts here as well as on the international forum at medhelp and I believe you are of the same opinion. I am right? My doctor says that I do not need to retest and since I live in Sweden(medicine is completely free here) he says he does not want to waste tax money on my OCD. My therapist is also of the same opinion. He indeed encouraged me to write to you since three opinions from different doctors are more than enough for a reasonable person,My last question is can I move on ?
Sorry for my long post. I just felt that you needed to know the whole story.

Default HIV rapid test at 9 weeks

Hello

Thanks for your post.

I agree with your doctor in Sweden that if condoms break they tend to do so dramatically and end up in tatters around the base of your penis.

I agree with the conculsions reached regarding the testing although personally I would definitely describe a determine ag/ab as a 4th generation HIV test. I would say that a 3rd generation test done at 6 weeks is more than 99% accurate.

I understand your OCD worries but I don't agree with them. Your doctor has established that you are HIV negative.

best wishes, Sean
