Default Worried about HIV

Dear Sir,

9 weeks ago i had protected anal sex with a male escort (i was the active partner). We used condoms and water based lubrication but i'm worried that at the beginning he used some baby oil to massage my back, and that his fingers might have some baby oil left , and have touched the condom. His hands wiped some of the oil off onto the sheets, which would have lessened the amount of oil still left in his hands.

I checked the condom after withdrawal and it looked fine. I has a combo test (1 & 2+ antigen) after that because i was worried , at 23 days and at 42 days, and both were negative.

Is there a chance that the condom might have leaked? How accurate are my results?

Many thanks for your help,

Best

John

Good Morning John

I think you can relax.

You are right to draw attention to the fact that baby oil may cause condoms to disintegrate but this usually happens in a very dramatic fashion with complete rupture of the condom.

In any event the two negative DUO tests have established that you are NOT HIV positive as a result.

best wishes, Sean
