Default Worried about HIV after unprotected oral sex

Hello,

I'm a male and currently living in Central Asia. I engaged in unprotected oral sex with a female CSW. She performed unprotected oral sex on me. I didn't perform oral sex on her and the vaginal sex was with a condom.

My main reasons of concern are due to the symptoms that have since developed. About a week ago I developed a mouth ulcer whilst at the same time feeling a lot more tired than usual and having a lack of appetite. All three of these things subsided a few days later.

Most recently I have had the most worrying symptoms of all. Swollen lymph nodes. I don't know much about them but having been doing my research on the internet and I clearly have two red lumps on my neck along with another two on my back and on my bum cheek. I also have red things on my arms and top of my back but believe these are mosquito bites. The two on my neck are the most worrying. As well as those I have also recently developed things that are similar to cold sores above my lip and a very small bump behind my ear. Just to note the red bumps on my neck didn't come at the same time. One came a few days ago and the other one came this morning hence my cause for concern. The same with the ones on my bum/back. One came a few days ago and the other today.

On the plus side I haven't had any headaches, flu or cough.

I keep trying to tell myself that receiving oral sex isn't a way of transmitting oral sex but when I look at my body I am beside myself with worry due to my symptoms.

My questions:

Do you believe I could have caught HIV from this episode?

How much blood from the CSW's mouth would it have taken for me to be infected? (there was no obvious sign of blood).

Have you any idea what these things are on my neck and other parts of my body? (I know it's almost impossible to say without seeing me). Do you get lymph nodes on the lower back and bottom?

I know you're going to tell me that I'm fine but can you justify it?

Forgetting about my 'small risk' do my symptoms sound like HIV symptoms?

Hello,
Thank you for your post and welcome to our forum. I will try to answer all of your questions here below:

Do you believe I could have caught HIV from this episode? No, I don't. Receiving a blow job does not pose any HIV risk and therefore I do not beleive that any of your symptoms have anything to do with HIV sero-conversion

How much blood from the CSW's mouth would it have taken for me to be infected? (there was no obvious sign of blood). You would need blood streaming out of her mouth and then being bitten on your penis. Something out of a vampire movie. Trust me! Impossible!

Have you any idea what these things are on my neck and other parts of my body? (I know it's almost impossible to say without seeing me). Do you get lymph nodes on the lower back and bottom? I am not sure, but whatever they are, they have nothing to do with HIV; you need to be checked by a doctor as they could be hundreds of things. Lymph nodes are mainly located in neck, armpits and groin.

I know you're going to tell me that I'm fine but can you justify it? I am not telling you that you are fine. I am just saying that you do not have HIV. You did not put yourself at risk and the symptoms do not correlate with HIV sero-conversion, as simple as that.

Forgetting about my 'small risk' do my symptoms sound like HIV symptoms?
No, they do not.

I hope this helps. It sounds like you need to be tested for the common STDs like Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea, but also syphilis. These are the main infections that one can contract through receiving oral sex. You might want to have a HIV test at the same time, for your peace of mind. The result will be negative.
More information about testing here.
Best wishes,
José
