Default Should I wait to get back to Europe or are these tests reliable?

I travel around the world and now I'm in a Middle Eastern country where there's no ability to test for HIV DUO .-
Have offered to perform but I can do a rapid test for antibodies (VIH por DETERMINE® de Inverness Medical, 15 minutes). If I do another test to detect the p24 antigen, the two would have the effect of a test DUO 4th generation?.
29 days ago in my presentation, oral and vaginal unprotected intercourse with sex workers.
If these two tests were negative, could I forget this incident and live in peace?

A grateful salute.

Hello

I think what you propose is very sensible and the combination is likely to give you an accurate result. However, I would still test again either at 84 days using the Determine or at 28 days with a true 4th generation combined test. Be aware that if you are in one of the Gulf states and you are not a national of the country in which you are testing a positive result is likely to mean the police being called and you being removed from the country I'm afraid.

best regards, Sean

Thanks Dr. but if the combination that I have proposed (HIV 1/2 DETERMINE ® Inverness Medical, 15 minutes) plus another test to detect the p24 antigen is not reliable, I prefer to wait.

Thank you again

Hello DR.
I followed his recommendation and I waited 12 and 14 weeks for testing of antibodies.
Two quick tests to determine HIV 1 / 2 of Inverness Medical, told me they are very reliable, with negative results.
You can live in peace?
Thank you very much.

Default HIV testing

Hello

If you had a 3rd generation test at 12 weeks and 14 weeks then you are fine if that is negative.

Bets regards, Sean
