Default Unprotected anal sex?

Hi my name is Gaz,
About 3 weeks ago i had an encounter with a gay guy, we peformed oral sex both giving and recieving.
i also had anal sex with this guy( me performing it on him unprotected) i ejaculated inside him, he did not ejaculate anywhere near me.(i had no sore/cuts etc on my penis and i have a foreskin).
Within the last few days i have had a sore penis tip which appears red around the hole and have had an itchy uncomfortable feeling inside my penis i have also been feeling tired and achey in the lower half of my body with swollen gland on the right hand side of my groin.
I went and had some tests at the GU clinic today, i was clear for everything they could test with immediet results and i am awaiting results from a blood sample they took.
Could you advise me on the chances of infection?
Many thanks Gaz.

Hello Gaz,

Obviously you're about a week or so too early for the HIV testing to be near accurate so the clinic will probably have advised you to do this at a later date?

You may have picked up a bacterial infection and if your penis / groin are uncomfortable after the episode then that is certainly possible. Again though the clinic will have tested you for these.

Always use a condom with lots of lube when you're fucking.

best wishes, Sean

Default Thanks for the prompt reply, but one more question?

I did have a hiv test at the clinic and will have one at a later date as you said, i was just curious about the chances of contracting hiv via this method of sex?

Hi Gaz

HIV is a possibility if the other guy was HIV positive.

I think it is unlikely as statistically you are at less than 1% risk generally in this scenario. A number of things may alter this but we cant put a figure on by how much. The things that will alter it are

1) how high his Viral Load was if he was HIV positive - the higher it is it seems more likely that you would contract HIV. People usually have a high viral load in the very early stages - 3-6 months of infection.
2) the presence of another STD.

Generally men who like to fuck bareback are best avoided unless you want to increase the chances of HIV infection.

best wishes, Sean
