Default worries after fingering

Hello, A few weeks ago i met up with an ex girlfriend I hadn't seen for quite a few years. We got quite close and I inserted a finger into her vagina.I didn't have any gapping cuts on my finger but maybe a couple of small healed light scratches .Scince then i am paranoid that i could have picked up the HIV virus. I have asked her if she has anything to worry about ( which didn't go down too well ) and she told me she has never had any std's or to her knowledge has nothing at present. My mind is playing terrible tricks on me, i've only got to get a twinge in a muscle or slight headache and I think the worse. Please help and advise. Many thanks John.

Default Fingering

Why is everyone so obsessed with fingering? I just loved the phrase "We got quite close and I inserted a finger into her vagina" - fabulous! Anyway, you are no risk of HIV through fingering. Please, no if or buts or what if's - you just ain't gonna get it that way. But thanks for entertaining me - it will be one of my memorable phrases of the year and you will get five stars for a jolly good post! Best wishes, Séan

Dr Sean, thanks for you prompt and reassuring reply. I'm glad my choice of words entertained you. I think the reason people worry about fingering is because, unlike intercoarse which is an obvious and recognised risk, fingering is something that you might do and then suddenly start worrying about later. Does that make sense? Anyway once again thank you. John.

Default Worries re fingering

Hi John, no worries, it was just your turn of phrase that tickled me. As I've said, there is simply no chance at all of you contrcating HIV this way. You can relax. Best regards, Sean

Hi Doctor,

I am a little confused. I have quoted this from the other thread from Dr Jose
"There is indeed a theoretical risk if an open wound, not necessarilly bleeding, gets into contact with contaminated blood or fluids like sperm or vaginal fluid. However I still believe this risk to be very low."

Does this mean that there will be only a risk if theres a big cut on your skin, wounds, big blisters etc to be a risk in contracting hiv when get into contact with vagina fluid?
so Small scratches, outer skin peeling due to dry skin, paper cuts etc would have no chance of being transmited?

Dr Sean. Just to let you know that the last comment on this post was not submitted by me ( john ) . I was more than happy with your answear. Is there anything to worry about regarding what this guy mentioned, a small risk. Sorry to ask again, but this last comment made me think again. Regards , John.

Default Fingering and HIV

Hello

Firstly re the fingering and HIV question - please repost properly as you are hijacking an unrelated thread. I've deleted the question you placed.

Secondly, as regards fingering and HIV - there is NO RISK unless there is a very fresh open bleeding wound. Miscellaneous nicks. cuts, paper cuts scratches etc are irrelevant.

best regards, Sean

What is the risk in the case of an open fresh bleeding wound...Has it every happened? And what does 'bleeding open wound' mean...if you squeeze it and get blood, or freely bleeding on it's own accord? Thanks?
