Decolletage Treatment

Wrinkled Chest & Decolletage Treatment. A complete solution for the wrinkled neck and chest.

As Amanda Platell observed in the Daily Mail,

” A wrinkled old décolletage begins to be a problem for most women as they pass 40. Too much sun, hardly any SPF on the chest……”

Sounds a little too familiar, doesn’t it? Well, luckily, Amanda discovered Lee Garrett who she describes as the “Décolletage King!”

Specialist Laser Nurse Lee was able to reverse much of the sun damage Amanda had suffered through years of sun exposure in her native Australia, using a combination of special broad band light (BBL) laser treatment and prescription creams.

Across the world women spend literally billions of pounds every year fighting the signs of ageing on their faces, ignoring their neck and chest which unfortunately reveal the secret of their true age – lines and wrinkles, sun damaged crepey skin, and for some, early skin cancers.

Correcting these sun related signs of ageing is though, very straightforward indeed. Specialist Nurse Lee Garrett is able to reverse the visible signs of ageing and sun damage, eliminating chest wrinkles and lines and restoring the natural skin elasticity by stimulating the rebuilding of collagen.

Why do women (or men!) develop chest wrinkles?

Chest wrinkles or wrinkles overlying the neck and cleavage (decolletage to give it it’s proper name) develop because of atmospheric exposure, especially to harmful ultra-violet light from the sun or from sun beds.

Aside from creating a temporary pleasing looking sun tan, ultra-violet sun light damages the skin causing it to thin and cause the underlying collagen fibres to become distorted, broken and to lose their elasticity. The result is an excess of lines and wrinkles on the neck and chest area. The skin of the neck and chest, the decolletage, is thinner and more vulnerable to sun damage than the skin on the face. Chest and neck skin also tends to be overlooked in the skincare moisturising and SPF routine, even on holiday. A wrinkled neck and chest will quickly result.

Is it possible to reverse the chest wrinkling effect?

It is possible to reverse the chest wrinkle effect by using a combination of broad band light (BBL) and also some specialised skin treatment systems which Lee will advise you on. Lee is an expert in the use of the Sciton BBL Laser. He will tailor the strength of the laser treatment so that it will reduce the appearance and feel of chest and neck lines and wrinkles. The effect is a deep one, correcting the damage years of sun exposure has done. The laser energy will penetrate deep into the skin targeting the region responsible for generating new collagen and reversing the causes the chest and neck wrinkles and lines.

The Sciton BBL laser energy causes growth of new collagen which adds firmness and resilience to the skin. The growth of collagen will continue for some time after your treatment and will lead to a gradual improvement in skin tone and texture, eliminating the crepey, wrinkled neck and cleavage in the weeks and months ahead.

How many laser treatments will I need?

It generally takes many years for your chest skin to develop the wrinkles and lines and lose its natural resilience and elasticity. So, naturally, it will take a while before things are corrected. Ideally you should have three or so treatments spaced 4 or so weeks apart to correct the wrinkle/crinkle effect. However, most people will notice a very distinct improvement after just one treatment.

Does the decolletage treatment hurt?

No, the treatment doesn’t hurt. It does feel rather link a flicking with an elastic band but it does tend to be gentle and tolerable. The effects on the chest and neck skin and wrinkles is very clear and so the benefits tend to become quicky obvious.

Will I be able to go back to work after the laser treatment?

Yes, absolutely. The skin over the target areas in the neck and chest will be slightly red and there may be some small bruising, but generally most people are able to return to work afterwards.

Are there other treatments I can use to improve my wrinkled chest skin?

Yes there are. At Freedomhealth we recommend the additional use of the Elastiderm Décolletage System from Obagi as a maintenance treatment to continue to revitalise the decolletage skin. This specially formulated regimen will reduce hyperpigmentation ( discolouration ), minimize wrinkles and fine lines, reduce the appearance of age spots, freckles and other signs of visible ageing.

The Elasiderm Decolletage System consists of two creams proven to help restore healthy skin. The range includes the skin lightening complex which is formulated with 4% hydroquinone, a treatment well known for reducing hyperpigmentation and age spots on the skin. The other part of the system is the Wrinkle Reducing Lotion, formulated with Elastiderm Restorative Elasticity Complex which contains a bi-mineral complex designed to help replenish elasticity and build collagen for increased skin strength and resilience.

Can dermal fillers be used for a wrinkly cleavage or neck?

Yes, they can, although the type of dermal filler needs to be selected carefully. At Freedomhealth we use the very fine Restylane Vital or Vital Light for the neck and chest. This delicate filler is ideal for restoring the body’s natural hyaluronic acid (something our skin is full of when we are small babies) and helping literally to moisturise from within.

How much does it all cost?

The laser treatment is best done at 4 weekly intervals and most people need around 3 treatments. The cost is £350 per treatment if paid for individually or £945, a saving of 10% if all three sessions are paid for together.

The Elastiderm Decolletage system costs £158 for both items together.

The Restylane Vital requires 2 syringes per session and this will cost £398 per session.

After consultation with Specialist Nurse Lee Garrett many people prefer to purchase the entire treatment programme and a 10% discount will apply to the total cost.
